If you have recently upgraded your Microsoft Outlook package to 2010. You may not have noticed that Outlook 2010 does not use the NK2 file anymore. For those of you who do not know: The NK2 file stores every email address you have ever typed into the address field when composing an email in Outlook and serves as the auto complete.

Not to worry. If you upgraded your Outlook package. It automatically imported your NK2 file.

For those of you moving to another computer with Microsoft Outlook 2010 already installed. The NK2 file can be imported manually. Here are the steps:

  2. Make sure the name of your NK2 file is “Outlook”
  3. Copy  your NK2 file to the same location as step 1.
  4. Open the Run windows. Windows XP: Start > Run , Windows Vista+: Start > Accessories > Run , Or Windows Key + R
